Kamala Harris

Kamala Devi Harris was born on October 20 1964. She is an American politician. She is also the first female vice-president as well as the highest-ranking female official of the United States. She is a member of the Democratic Party and was previously the attorney general of California between 2011 and 2017. Additionally she was an United States senator representing California between 2017 and 2021. Harris was born in Oakland. Harris received her law degree from Howard University. She began her career in the Alameda County District Attorney's Office, before being recruited to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office and then to the City Attorney of San Francisco's office. In 2003, she was the San Francisco district attorney. Harris was elected Attorney General of California in 2010. In 2014, she was elected to a second term. Harris was the junior United States Senate from California between 2017 and 2021. Harris beat Loretta Santiago in the 2016 Senate election and became the 2nd African American woman to serve in Congress and the first South Asian American American to do so in the United States Senate. Harris was a senator who advocated for healthcare reform and federal de-scheduling cannabis. The path to citizenship for immigrants who are not legally recognized. The DREAM Act bans assault weapons and progressive tax reform. She was well-known for her direct questioning of Trump government officials during Senate hearings.
